Comedy Underground Tacoma Presents…Billy Wayne Davis!
“Billy Wayne Davis is the thinking man's hillbilly. With a combination of subtle, disarming intelligence and an unmistakable comfort on stage, he has the rare ability to win over every kind of comedy audience imaginable. After making a name for himself in his homeland of Nashville, TN, he has gone on to perform in virtually every corner of the United States, from the deep south to the "alternative comedy" hotbed of Seatte, WA, which he now calls home.”

Fine & Casual Dining
The Capital Grille
“The evening started off with their great curb-side FREE valet parking. Then we were treated like royalty by our server - Alan. Ask for him if you can! We enjoyed the 3 course dinner for $39.00. The squash soup was wonderful, the lobster and crab stuffed prawns were sensational and the apple crisp with ice cream finished it off perfectly. We were able to leave our cars and walk to Benaroya Hall for our event and come back later to pick up the car!!! A great evening!” –Cindy Parks

Happy Hour of the Week
Shuckers in the Fairmont
If you have never been to the Fairmont in Seattle this is your perfect opportunity. They have a wonderful restaurant, Shuckers, that offers a killer seafood happy hour. How about Micro-brewed Battered Halibut and Chips for $4! Something to sip on you say? How about draft beer for $3, glass of wine for $4 or a Martini for $6? What a nice little hidden secret in Seattle. To top it off the dress code is casual!

Sports
Seattle Seahawks
Last week I put four, that’s right, four, Seahawk players in my fantasy football line-up. I said to myself…This will either work or it won’t. After the first quarter being down 17-0 to the worst team in the NFL I was in shock. Thankfully the Hawks were able to turn it around and pull off the win, which helped me win by the way. This week it won’t be so easy and no, I do not even have one Hawk in my line-up. The Cardinals seem to have our number and Kurt Warner isn’t getting anything but better with age. This week the Hawks take on the Cardinals in Arizona and need the win for many reasons.

Seattle Sounders
The Sounders end their season in a disappointing loss to the Houston Dynamo in Houston last Sunday. They were defeated 1-0 in overtime. The Sounders, in their first season in the MLS, finished third in their division and made the playoffs. Not bad guys…Great stuff!

Adopt a pet! Fees waived at King County Animal Shelters!!
King County Animal Care and Control (KCACC) are waiving adoption fees on all animals at their two shelter locations and for pets in foster care in advance of moving their Kent shelter location out of the Green River valley flood zone. This means that potential adopters can take an animal home today for just the cost of the pet license.
The main shelter will continue services at its current location in Kent as an agreement is finalized for another facility. KCACC will continue to operate as usual out of both the Kent and Crossroads locations while it continues to work on relocating services outside of the Green River flood plain, which is at increased risk of flooding because of damage at the Howard Hanson Dam.
Help them out and help yourself out. Get a pet!!

Getaway Deal
Portland Getaway
I know Portland isn’t very far away, but you can make it feel further away than you think. Here's how...
Take the Amtrak from anywhere in the Everett/Seattle/Tacoma area to Portland. This will help it feel like you are off to some place far away. You will get to see some areas that you can’t access otherwise. Once you get to Portland it is very easy to take transportation via the MAX or any of the other buses/trolleys.
I recommend you stay at The Nines in downtown Portland. This hotel is a very swanky hotel that you can usually find bargain prices for online. I have seen $125-175 per night, which is a steal for this 4 star (my opinion) hotel. The hotel has a great restaurant for breakfast called the Urban Farmer. They also serve fantastic steak in the evening. The hotel also has a cool bar with happy hour on the very top of the building that overlooks Portland.
If you want to get out all you have to do is step outside. Within one block you can take trolleys and buses all over Portland. You can also walk 5 short blocks to the Willamette River. There is a cool Starbucks just across the street in red square too!
I have listed a couple sites below for you to check out. Enjoy!!
